About Me
I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and then moved to Airdrie,
Alberta in Dec 2010. I absolutely love Airdrie and the smaller community feel!
My background is working with children who have special needs but after having
my own I just couldn’t justify leaving them in a dayhome while I worked with
other kids so I began to search for work that would allow me to be at home with
my kids. I have a 4.5 daughter, Cassie, and a 21 month old son, Jack. Cassie
was born the old fashioned way in a hospital and although it wasn’t a bad
experience, I didn’t feel like I had a lot of control over what was happening.
I do remember after she was born being asked if I wanted my placenta and
thinking ‘NO, what kind of question was that!!’. I didn’t even want to see what
it looked like. I had my baby and that is what mattered.
My whole life I have dealt with health issues that finally baffled the
medical system. My family doctor, who was tired of my weekly visits, sent me to
the hospital to see a specialist. That ‘so called’ specialist actually kicked
me out of the hospital once he saw that I had a diagnosis of ‘Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome’. A diagnosis given to me by the medical profession. He sent me home
with Percocet & Toradol, two powerful pain medications to basically just
make me comfortable. I had such a feeling of hopelessness and I was only 22
years old. It was after this that I discovered alternative medicine and
discovered a lot of my health issues were most likely related to vaccine damage.
I am proud to say that the only medication I now take is a low dose of an
antidepressant that I am working on getting off of with the help of my
homeopathic doctor.
When I got pregnant with my son I knew Susan as an acquaintance and I
remember her posting info on her facebook wall about eating placenta’s and
placenta encapsulation. For my second birth I had a midwife and a home birth in
one of of the birth pool. The only medicine I used was a homeopathic remedy for
back labor. I talked to my midwife about what I was reading as I was a little
‘grossed out’ for lack of a better term. My midwife told me more about the
benefits of it. Now being a person who has suffered so much with health issues
and deals with depression on a daily basis, not just after pregnancy, I have
become very open to alternatives to health. I don’t vaccinate my kids, and have
a homeopathic doctor who I see more than a family doctor, and will do everything
to avoid taking or giving chemical drugs to any members of my family. I kept on
thinking about it and researching it and finally told Susan that if she could
take my placenta away (I still didn’t want to see it) and make it look like a
vitamin than I would take it. I don’t even know what all is in the multivitamin
I take every day and I would know exactly what was in this pill. She did this
fabulous service for me and I flew by the hardest 6 months with a new born and 3
year old without breaking down. I was shocked at how great I felt and how
quickly the pills would have an effect. Breast feeding was so much better, I
stopped bleeding after 3 weeks instead of 6 and I definitely had more energy. I
started to get low on pills and actually got anxiety about it! Susan made me a
tincture that I still use and hope to still have for menopause.
Once I experienced this awesome medicine I knew I had to find out how I
could be involved and I am blessed that Susan has taken me on, taught me how to
encapsulate, and given me the opportunity to help more mom’s in this powerful
and wonderful way! So I went from being someone who wouldn’t even look at my
own placenta to encapsulating everyone else’s!!
I have also been taking courses on homeopathic medicine and hope to
continue on in this direction once my kids are a little older and in school.
